I am the photographer and owner of The Prism Design Experience Inc.
I have two wonderful boys, the sweetest dog and I work full time.
In the 20 years that I was in long term relationships, wearing lingerie was something that I did regularly for my partner. Feeling pretty was reliant on their reaction to the way I looked.
Two years after being widowed, without anyone to wear it for, I decided to buy lingerie for myself. I wasn't waiting for anyone's approval, reaction or validation. It was from a luxury brand that custom sews each piece to order, and shares client photos in a private group of clients. I was amazed at how perfectly they fit. I felt the confidence of wearing something for myself, and was comfortable sharing those photos.
It was the first time that I saw myself and thought I was really stunningly beautiful. It was like looking at a photo of someone else and then realizing that it was me.
I realized then that so many other women were feeling like me. They were so busy prioritizing everyone else and hadn’t allowed themselves the time to care for themselves. They were exhausted, run down, a shadow of the person that they used to be, feeling that same uncomfortable pang of not being enough, when really they just didn't know how truly stunning they are.
That was the catalyst that drove me to create The Prism Design Experience Inc. so that I could share that experience with you by showcasing how truly beautiful you are.
Recognizing beauty in other women has always come easily to me. I am a perfectionist with an eye for beauty and regardless of your age or body type, I will guide you through positions and use lighting that accentuates your best features.
I can't wait for you to experience that moment when you see stunning photos, and then have the realization that the gorgeous woman in the photo is you!
Confidence is contagious. You will find yourself complimenting other women with ease, brightening their days, and they in turn may make choices to provide self care and love for themselves.
I Understand
I understand how intimidating it can be to consider a photo shoot where you will be in positions that likely only a partner has seen you in.
I've experienced weight gain, pregnancy, I've had silver hair and cellulite for over a decade. I am now in my 40s and am thankful for everything that my body has helped me to achieve.
I believe that Boudoir Photography is confidence building, empowering and will have a profound effect on the way you see yourself going forwards.
I will never encourage you to do something that I wouldn't do myself. That is why I chose to share some of the photos that changed the way I feel about myself. I took those photos after I made school lunches, neatened the house, let the dog out, did laundry and everyone else was finally asleep.
When I say I understand, I really do understand.
That is the reason I decided it was necessary to create an in home boudoir studio. I have experienced how difficult it can be to have a moment to yourself in a space that you are responsible for. I knew that I needed to create a space that allowed you to fully relax and be free of all responsibility.
Most days I'm wearing jeans and a long sleeved shirt, going to work, making dinner, and rushing to my boys soccer practices. While that is a big part of who I am, there are other sides to me as well and without exploring them I would never be in a position to share the same experience with you.
Be proud of everything that your body and mind have accomplished. Celebrate all aspects of your beauty.
